Porsche declared in a press conference their newest models will hit the market in the middle of 2019 on 10th April. Yesterday, at International Buddha Circuit, first glances were caught. Carrera S and Carrera S Cabriolet are priced at INR 1.82 crore and 1.99 crore respectively.
The new models have been designed to pay tribute to its classic shape. Press release from the luxury and sports car manufacturers say, the rear-engine model of the cars were meant to emit a muscular shape. The front retained the classic look. The cabin will come with a brand-new Porsche Management system. The new model altogether grown in proportions and somehow resembles previous generations 911.
Other features of the new model includes a 3.0-litre, flat six-cylinder petrol engine which will churn out 444 BHP and 530 NM of peak torque. The engine is now empowered with a new fuel-injection system giving a better combustion and performance and is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Along with that, Porsche will also offer a seven-speed manual gearbox as an option. Designers factored in the comfort aspect of the model and crafted accordingly. It has a more angular dashboard with a 10.9-inch touchscreen. It also gets a new multi-function steering wheel along with the new instrument console.
The optional sport Chrono Package decreases the sprint by a further 2.0 seconds. Power in the new model is pumped by a newly-developed eight-speed Porsche Dopplekupplung(PDK) dual-clutch transmission. The top speed has been recorded at 308 kmph for the 911 Carrera S and 306 kmph for the soft-top version, according to the statement by Porsche.
