Sports Minister of Odisha, Tusharkanti Behera, has launched the Age Appropriate Fitness Protocols’ in Odia, for all age groups, via video conferencing under the Fit India movement. The Fitness Protocols will educate the public on assessing their physical well-being and will be guided to add simple exercises in their daily routine for a healthy lifestyle.

The protocols are released in three books to create awareness of the benefits of choosing an active lifestyle. The books are available in both Odia and English to benefit everyone within the State.

Age Appropriate Fitness Protocols and Guidelines have been collectively developed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. The fitness protocols are designed by experts for all age groups, specifically from 5 to 18 years, 18 to 65 years, and 65 years and above, to accommodate a broad section of society.

Fit India Movement is a fitness-centric initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Sports Authority of India (SAI). 

On this occasion, organized via digital conferencing, many authorized people were present including, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Sports, Shri. Vishal K Dev, Director-cum-Additional Secretary, Sports, Shri R Vineel Krishna, Regional Director, Shri Vineet Kumar, SAI Eastern Region Kolkata, and Deputy Secretary, Sports, Shri Shailendra Jena.
