New Delhi [India], Dec 28 : India skipper Virat Kohli on Saturday applauded boxer Sakshi Chaudhary for qualifying for the Olympics Qualifiers Asia-Oceania.

Taking to Twitter Kohli wrote, “Congratulations to Sakshi Chaudhary on her brilliant performance and being selected for the #OlympicQualifiers @vkfofficial.”

Chaudhary defeated Sonia Lather in the 57kg weight category at the Indira Gandhi Stadium on Saturday. The pugilist is supported by Virat Kohli Foundation which aims to transform the future of the nation by supporting the next generation of India’s sporting talent.

The 31-year-old Kohli was one of the five cricketers who were named in the Wisden cricketers of the decade on Wednesday.

He has scored 5,775 more international runs and 22 more international hundreds than anyone else in this decade. He is the only active batsman to average above fifty in all three formats.

He became the most successful Test captain for India and also became the first to win seven successive Test games.

Kohli, the number one Test batsman, is spending some off-days from cricket after recently clinching the ODI series against West Indies 2-1.

The player will next feature in the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka commencing from January 5, 2020.
