Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Jan 2 : The National Cricket Academy (NCA) is all set to get a data analytics wing and medical panel as a part of the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) revamp plan.

For the medical panel, Fortius Clinic in London will be consulted to leave no stone unturned. BCCI has asked the NCA to initiate dialogue with the clinic and share all necessary requirements.

The process to set up the medical panel will be done after the discussions between the NCA and the clinic.

These decisions were taken by the cricket board in a meeting on December 26 last year, which was attended by president Sourav Ganguly, NCA head Rahul Dravid, and secretary Jay Shah.

The board has also asked the NCA to develop a fast bowling programme and to hire a specialist fast bowling coach.

BCCI has also told the NCA, whose headquarters are in Bengaluru, to hire a nutrition head. A social media manager will also be hired for the cricket academy to provide regular updates on what goes around inside the facility.

In an earlier interaction, Ganguly had said that he sees the NCA as a spot of excellence for the BCCI.

“I am just two-three months old into the job. Injuries will happen in sport, which is a part and parcel of the sport. NCA is a spot of excellence for the BCCI,” Ganguly had told ANI.
