New Delhi [India], Jan 4 : I do not think about awards or rewards, said shooter Manu Bhaker on Saturday when asked about what is the ideal amount of recognition for her.
Commonwealth and Youth Olympic Games champion Bhaker won one gold medal each in the women’s 10-meter air pistol senior and junior events.
In the final of the senior event, she shot 243 while in the junior category, Bhaker shot 241.
“It is up to the government and federation. I actually do not know what to say about this. The federation has to decide. I have tried my best if they feel like awarding me, they can. I always try my best. I do not think about that. I have always believed that whatever comes to you, it should be accepted,” Bhaker told ANI.
Bhaker also said that women’s empowerment is important in every aspect of life as it leads to success and brings positivity in society.
“Females and males are equally important and the males can’t dominate all the time. It always requires all the parts of the society to develop and grow up. It develops something positive in the environment and everything gets simpler. Women empowerment leads to success in every aspect of life,” she said.
