The Vitamin Shoppe had recently come out with an announcement that Laura Coffey had been appointed by the Company as the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer.
The role of Laura Coffey would involve handling of multiple areas such as Corporate Finance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Tax, Accounting, Financial Planning and Real Estate.
By possessing deep financial expertize as well as vast experience in key retail operations, Laura Coffey is set to bring in specialized set of skills into Vitamin Shoppe. Apart from finance and accounting, she has held leadership positions in her career in many other areas such as e-commerce, merchandise planning, strategic planning, inventory management and business development. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, with many years of SEC and corporate governance experience. Additionally, she has earlier served Pier 1 Imports, Inc. over a long period of 23 years, wherein she had held a series of positions that included EVP, Interim CFO, EVP, E-Commerce and Business Development, EVP, Merchandise Planning and Allocations, including SVP, Finance.
Laura Coffey has been reporting to Sharon M. Leite, CEO of the Company. On her appointment, Ms. Leite mentioned that she was thrilled to welcome Laura as the CFO into their leadership team, while also mentioning that The Vitamin Shoppe had been continuing with its mission to become the premier destination for trusted health and wellness solutions. She further added that it was rare to find a person of Laura’s caliber who had possessed extensive experience across financial management and omnichannel operations, apart from inventory management and digital transformation. She further expressed confidence in Laura’s experience and expertize in managing complex financial organizations, as well as being a person who possessed tremendous knowledge of retail strategy that could serve as a guide for the company to effectively allocate their resources for the delivery of strong financial performance of the Company.
Laura Coffey commented that she was extremely excited to have joined the Company’s team of health enthusiasts who are committed to quality, innovation and expertize in every aspect of their work. She further stated that she looked forward to further enhance their process of financial planning and analysis. while also being able to optimize their use of resources in order to drive the growth of the company strategically as well as financial performance.
Laura Coffey has been currently chairing the Audit Committee of the Community National Bank & Trust of Texas. Apart from that, she is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County. She has completed her BBA Degree in Accounting from University of Texas-Arlington.
