Daniil Medvedev, was fined dollar 12,000 for his extraordinary rant on the chair Umpire in the game in Australian Open.

The incident happen when he was playing semi finals against Stefanos Tsitsipas, in which he won the game and outclassed his opponent.

The Russian world number two was handed two fines by Tennis Australia — $8,000 for a “visible obscenity” and $4,000 for “unsportsmanlike conduct”.

His four-set win over Tsitsipas sealed his second consecutive Australian final appearance, but it was his bewildering rant at chair umpire Jaume Campistol that dominated post-match talk.

“Are you mad? Are you mad? (Tsitsipas’s) father can coach every point?” Medvedev screamed at Campistol.

“Are you stupid? His father can talk every point?

“His father can talk every point?

“Answer my question. Will you answer my question? Will you answer my question? Can you answer my question? Can you answer my question, please?”

“Can his father talk every point?”

After an indistinguishable response from Campistol, Medvedev yelled:

“Oh my god. Oh my god, you are so bad, man. How can you be so bad in semi-final, your answer? Look at me. I’m talking to you!”

Later, Medvedev called the umpire a “small cat”. At his post-match press conference, he said he regretted making the outburst.

Daniil Medvedev is just a between Rafel Nadal and Aus Open trophy. He won over Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semi finals and is bucked up for the coming game against stalwart Nadal.

Grand Slam champion and analyst Mats Wilander describes Medvedev as a “chess player on a tennis court.”

He’s a chess player. He hits the shot that he thinks is right for the moment, not because of where the score is, He’s just a really good tactician on court,” Wilander said.

He keeps opponents guessing with his flat and low groundstrokes, while changing up the pace and angles, blending impenetrable defence with opportunistic offence.

But as everyone has a darker side, he is not out of the fray. This darker side of Daniil Medvedev shown during Umpire Rant landed him into a penalty and unsportsmanlike accolades.
