India U-19 Cricket team has outclassed Australia U-19 in Semi Finals in World Cup 2022. All credits go to captain Yash Dhull and  deputy Shaik Rasheed.

Yash Dhull and his deputy Shaik Rasheed added 204 runs for the third wicket to successfully bat Australia out of the contest, guiding India to their fourth successive Under-19 World Cup final with 96-run victory. Dhull scored a century in the process while Rasheed fell six short, as India posted 290 for 5 in 50 overs which proved to be far too much for the chasing Australian side. India now face England – another team on a similar unbeaten run – in the summit clash.

Australia went from 71 for 1 in the 17th over to 125 for 7, with all the six wickets falling to the spinners. Ostwal finished with 3 for 42 – India’s best in the game – taking his World Cup tally to 12 wickets. His and Sindhu’s effectiveness through the middle-overs meant Lachlan Shaw’s fighting 50 was a mere consolation for Australia as they were bundled out for 194 in the 42nd over.

Brief Scores: India 290/5 in 50 overs (Yash Dhull 110, Shaik Rasheed 94; Jack Nisbet 2-41, William Salzmann 2-57) beat Australia 194 in 41.5 overs (Lachlan Shaw 51; Vicky Ostwal 3-42, Nishant Sindhu 2-25, Ravi Kumar 2-37) by 96 runs.

After the Matches, Virat Kohli who himself rallied for World Cup U-19 in his times and Won that, interacted with all the players. India U-19 Cricket team interacted with their ‘Virat Bhaiya’ before going for the summit clash soon.

The experience gained by Virat Kohli is probably what they need most for the time being. The expertise will sail them through the game and allow them bring the cup home.

When Kohli was the captain of the Indian team at the junior level, his team defeated South Africa in a tense final in Kuala Lumpur in 2008. 14 years have passed since then and Kohli has become a former captain after becoming the captain of the senior team.

It is not known whether BCCI secretary Jay Shah requested Kohli to talk to the players of the U-19 team or NCA chief VVS Laxman. But Kohli inspired all the players before stepping foot on the field for the final.

Rajvardhan Hangargekar wrote on his Instagram, “Virat Kohli Bhaiya it was great to have a conversation with you. Learned some important things from you about life and cricket which will help us to get better in the days to come.”
