The MLB and GameChanger, a popular youth sports app, have entered into a multi-year agreement to strengthen connections with young athletes in baseball and softball. GameChanger, known for its live streaming, scorekeeping, and team management features, has a significant user base of 13 million young athletes and over 750,000 teams.

The collaboration between MLB and GameChanger aims to support the growth of baseball and softball at the grassroots level. GameChanger has already been widely used by youth baseball players, including all of the top 50 prospects in the upcoming 2023 MLB Draft. MLB and MLB Network will utilize highlights and statistics gathered from GameChanger’s user-generated experiences during the MLB Draft coverage on July 9, incorporating them into their broadcasts and various digital channels.

Additionally, this partnership seeks to make youth baseball and softball content more accessible to underserved communities. Select teams participating in MLB’s Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program will receive free subscriptions to GameChanger, allowing them to benefit from the app’s features and resources.

Overall, the agreement between MLB and GameChanger aims to foster engagement and support for youth athletes in baseball and softball, while also promoting inclusivity and providing opportunities for underserved communities to access valuable resources.

David James, Vice President of Baseball & Softball Development, Major League Baseball said, “We are excited for all the possibilities that our partnership with GameChanger will bring to our sport’s experience for parents, coaches and players. As we bring outstanding content to the literal fingertips of our youth baseball and softball community, we see this as a great opportunity to enhance our efforts to build a foundation for growth into the future.”

GameChanger’s impressive track record, with consistent top rankings in the App Store and impressive usage statistics, highlights its popularity and effectiveness in the youth sports community. With over 36 million games scored, 3 million games video streamed, and 29 million auto-generated highlights produced on the platform, it has become a go-to app for youth baseball and softball.

The partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB) is expected to take the app’s experience to a new level. Collaborating with MLB will likely lead to enhancements in the app’s features, further improving the user experience for parents, coaches, and players. Additionally, GameChanger will have multiple branding opportunities with MLB, which can increase the app’s visibility and reach.

Sameer Ahuja, President, GameChanger said, “Since our founding, our team has worked tirelessly to build what is now considered the most dynamic and innovative youth sports video streaming and scorekeeping product ever created. Like MLB, we understand the future of baseball and softball is dependent on the vitality of the game at the youth level. Our shared commitment and passion to grow the sport from its roots makes this partnership a natural fit, and we look forward to working together for many years to come.”
