West Indies cricket team’s squad for the second Test against India in Trinidad. The West Indies are looking to bounce back after a disappointing loss in the first Test of the new ICC World Test Championship cycle. While they have mostly retained the squad from the previous match, they have made one change by including uncapped spinner Kevin Sinclair in place of all-rounder Raymon Reifer.
Raymon Reifer had a poor performance in the first Test, scoring only two and 11 runs without taking any wickets. However, he will still travel with the team to Trinidad and may be used as a replacement in case of an injury. On the other hand, Kevin Sinclair, an exciting off-spinner, has been given an opportunity to make his Test debut. Sinclair has already represented the West Indies in seven ODIs and six T20Is, with his most recent appearance being in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe.
Sinclair, known for his unique celebrations that involve flips when dismissing batsmen, will likely work alongside fellow spinner Rahkeem Cornwall if he is chosen to play in the Test match. The match will be held at Queen’s Park Oval, and the West Indies will be eager to level the series and get back to winning ways.
West Indies squad for second Test against India: Kraigg Brathwaite (c), Jermaine Blackwood (vc), Alick Athanaze, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Rahkeem Cornwall, Joshua Da Silva, Shannon Gabriel, Jason Holder, Alzarri Joseph, Kirk McKenzie, Kemar Roach, Kevin Sinclair, Jomel Warrican
Reserves: Tevin Imlach, Akeem Jordan.
