In the first match, South Zone’s captain Mayank Agarwal played a crucial innings of 98 runs. His patient knocks off 115 balls formed the backbone of South Zone’s total of 206 runs. Agarwal’s innings included 55 runs scored through the off-side, and he hit nine fours in total. He was particularly effective against the left-arm spinner Parth Bhut, whom he dispatched for three fours in an over. Agarwal’s efforts helped South Zone secure a 12-run victory over West Zone, and he was rightly named the standout performer of the match.
In the second match, North Zone dominated Central Zone thanks to stellar performances from Prabhsimran Singh and Nitish Rana. Prabhsimran Singh’s brilliant knock of 121 runs off 107 balls was the highlight of North Zone’s total of 307 for 8. His innings included 13 fours and five sixes, and he was particularly aggressive against the Central Zone spinners. Meanwhile, Nitish Rana made a significant impact with the ball, taking four wickets for 35 runs. His bowling performance helped break important partnerships and restricted Central Zone to 259 for 9 in their 50 overs. Shivam Chaudhary’s 51-run contribution was the highest for Central Zone, but it was not enough to secure a win.
With these victories, South Zone secured four points and moved to the top of the table with a total of eight points from two matches. North Zone’s victory also put them in a strong position in the tournament.
