Ashes has been a game of arch rivalry between Australia and England every year and one of the most sought after games in the International Cricket. This year again Australia retains the Ashes trophy as they hurdled England Team on meagre score of 68 and beaten the England team with an Innings and 14 runs in 3rd test of the 5 matches series.
The team has been on a winning spree where debutant Scott Boland has been a game changer for the Australian side who was named man of the match for 3rd test. It’s not the matter of who nailed better but it Ashes is a game of complete dominance, played well by Australian side this time.
In his home ground, Debutant Scott Boland was called as an Injury Cover-up but the way he played and showed the character was even better than regular fill-ups. He registered a record figure of taking 6 hauls giving 7 runs in just 4 overs. That bestowed the Australian side a cutting edge for retaining the Urn Of Ashes.
England side started with double digit figure of 31 still left with 55 runs at par to cross the first Innings score made by Kangaroos. But the comeback in the game was not so easy as Joe Root had responsibility on his shoulders but he missed to deliver the game he is expected to do. After his fall, the team plummeted.
“It is pretty insane. Just an awesome few weeks, everything clicked and everything worked out,” said Australian skipper Pat Cummins “Thrilled for Scott Boland. We have been relentless.”
“It is what it is. We have come to dealing with this sort of an environment for a while now,” said a dejected Root.
“Credit to Australia, they blew us away. We have a lot of hard work to do now and come back hard in the next two matches.”
Whether there would be play at all was in doubt after four members of the England party — two support staff and two family members – tested positive for coronavirus on Monday.
