FITEQ, the governing body of Teqball, has made an exciting announcement regarding the World Teqball Championships 2023. This prestigious event is set to take place in the vibrant city of Bangkok, Thailand, at Hua Mak Stadium. Scheduled from November 29th to December 3rd, this marks a historic occasion as it is the first time the Teqball Championships will be held outside of its European origins.
The championship has a rich history of host cities, including Nuremberg, Germany in 2022, Gliwice, Poland in 2021, Budapest, Hungary in 2019, Reims, France in 2018, and Budapest, where Teqball’s inaugural World Championships took place in 2017. This global expansion showcases the sport’s growing popularity and reach.
To earn a spot at the World Teqball Championships, athletes from around the world will participate in local tournaments and national qualifier events. The competition will feature five event categories: men’s and women’s singles and doubles, along with mixed doubles, ensuring a diverse and inclusive playing field.
“We are thrilled to bring Teqball to Asia for the first time and to have the most skilled teqball athletes compete against each other for the championship title,” stated Viktor Huszár, Chairman of FITEQ.
“I am extremely excited and fortunate to continue my efforts towards being a world champion,” stated Margaret Osmundson, Teqball champion competing in Bangkok, currently ranked 4th in Women’s doubles. “Everything that I have achieved I can give respect to every person that has been a part of the process. It’s been a long road, but I am excited to continue my efforts in securing a gold in either mixed doubles or women’s doubles,” she continued.
The ultimate prize at stake is a substantial $250,000 and the esteemed title of World Champion in their respective categories. With over 200 athletes expected to compete, representing more than 50 nations, the championship promises to be a truly international and thrilling event for Teqball enthusiasts worldwide.

The global appeal of Teqball is further highlighted by its broadcasting coverage. Eurosport will provide worldwide coverage, while in Thailand, MONO29 will broadcast the event, and ZhiboTV in China will also offer live coverage.
