Cricket Australia has announced the venues for the upcoming five-match Test series against India. The Optus Stadium in Perth, which recently saw low attendance during the matches against Pakistan, will host the first Test in November. Cricket Australia will collaborate with Western Australia to improve the attendance at the stadium. The second Test of the series will be played at Adelaide Oval, while The Gabba in Brisbane will host the third Test match. The Boxing Day Test will take place at the prestigious Melbourne Cricket Ground, and the series will conclude with the final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

According to sources, Cricket Australia aims to improve Test cricket in Perth, with a focus on enhancing attendance at the new 60,000-seater Optus Stadium. Despite being challenging to fill during the previous season’s Tests, the stadium sees high attendance during Perth Scorchers’ Big Bash League matches. It’s anticipated that with India and England touring Australia over the next two years, attendance in Perth will increase.

Cricket Australia has not yet released the schedule for the next season, but announcements are expected by the end of the month. However, details regarding the upcoming seasons of the men’s and women’s Big Bash League have been disclosed. A spokesperson from Cricket Australia mentioned that the schedule hasn’t been finalized yet.
