In a bid to know more about their fitness equipment, Rajeev Biswas, from Sportz Business Fitness Magazine brings an exclusive interview with Mr Vishal Grover, CEO of Fitness Recall.
Let’s read him what he has to say regards to his fitness equipment.
Q First please tell us something about your journey so far regards to building up a world-class fitness equipment company?
With a total experience of 26 years of sales & marketing, my initial years were dedicated to the Electrical industry and my passion drove me to the fitness world. It’s almost a decade since I joined the Marketing partners of a world-class leading gym equipment company “Precor” from the USA as a General Manager, followed by an all India profile as a Vice President for selling a brand like a “Hoist”. After gaining the experience, I got into a mode of Partnership and started a company “Fitness Recall” in which we have an exclusive tie-up with a very unique range of equipment from Total Gym USA, which caters to Cardio, Strength, Functional training & Pilates.
Q Kindly explain to us the state-of-the-art technology that you have been using in your gym equipment?
The Total Gym Company of USA is 47 years old in the industry and we being the only Marketing partners to them for Pan India, this company manufactures equipment that operates on your body weight and can be used for strength & functional training. Also, it’s got unique equipment Encompass for Pilates, so practically the same set of equipment can be used for a strength training and Pilates, only the accessories would differ.
Q Being a premium gym equipment company, how do you ensure the consistent quality of your products?
Since we are a trading company we provide spares & services promptly to all our clients as and when required. We also provide regular training sessions for our clients & trainers to keep them undated.
Q What are the challenges that you have faced so far, and tell us something about your clientele and their requirements?
This being an unique product, initially, it was a very big challenge to convince a client for an Encompass as they were sold to a regular idea of a Reformer when it comes to Pilates, also we had to invite the Master trainers from Italy to provide introductory & advance training for pitching this product into the market. Our clients are, the commercial gyms; Pilates Studios, HNI’s and we are the exclusive vendors to a gym chain MMA Matrix (A Tiger& Krishna Shroff gym chain) for all of India.
Q How do you bring the exact reality on the desk while setting up a gym, and kindly share some details about the after-sales service of your equipment?
To initiate, we need to involve our designing team for an Auto cad which is received from the client based on which we provide them a layout with multiple options, it takes care of the positioning of the equipment, electrical points and flooring area. Once the client has approved the layouts, we provide them with the quotes for the same and then we proceed with the installation. In short, we need to be a consultant to the client rather than just being a sales professional. We have a PMS (Periodic maintenance system) in which our service team would periodically visit the gyms and service them and if there is a SOS, the client reaches us through customer care. We ensure the breakdowns are attended in 24 hours if it’s within the city limits.
Q Till date how many gyms in India have you covered so far?
We have supplied to more than 60 gyms Pan India of all categories.
Q Is your Gym Equipment’s manufacturing completely based in India?
Not really, as we are into trading and not manufacturing.
Q As the impact of the pandemic hampered the fitness industry, how have you managed during the time of COVID?
Of course, the entire fitness industry has been tremendously affected. As the gyms were shut during the Pandemic, the fitness freaks and Enthusiasts were ordering for our equipment for home workouts by which we could sustain ourselves in these difficult times.
Q Any new equipment you are deciding to launch in near future?
Yes, we are in talks with a high-end brand from the USA and very soon launching it in India. It’s on hold because of the Pandemic.
