Haryana’s young boxers Sikander and Yogesh Dhanda had a successful start to their junior boys’ national championships campaign in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. According to a press release from the Boxing Federation of India (BFI), Sikander competed in the 48kg category against Harshit Gahlot of Delhi. Sikander demonstrated control and dominance from the first round, delivering powerful punches that Harshit had no answer for. As a result, Sikander secured an easy unanimous victory with a scoreline of 5-0.

Similarly, Yogesh Dhanda, competing in the 57kg category, showcased power and precision in his bout against Akash V of Karnataka. Yogesh displayed a commanding performance and secured a 5-0 win, comfortably advancing to the next round.

On the other hand, Vansh, competing in the 50kg category, had a more challenging match against Manish Gurjar of Rajasthan. Both boxers started the bout aggressively, exchanging numerous blows. However, as the match progressed, Vansh took control and emerged victorious with a scoreline of 3-2, after putting in a lot of effort.

In the 48kg category, Divash Katare from SSCB (Services Sports Control Board) showcased exceptional skills against Anjin Anu Thomas of Kerala. Divash dominated the bout from the beginning, leading the referee to stop the contest (RSC) in the first round, declaring Divash the winner.

In addition, Sahil Jethi (48kg) and Ishwinder Singh (66kg) from Punjab secured identical 5-0 victories over their opponents. Sahil defeated Soyam Malick of Bengal, while Ishwinder triumphed over Manteg Singh of Chandigarh. Both Sahil and Ishwinder outshined their opponents with ease, not allowing any chance of a comeback and securing convincing wins.

Overall, the young boxers from Haryana and other states demonstrated their talent and determination in the early stages of the junior boys’ national championships.
