The Legends League Cricket (LLC) returns with an exciting new edition, featuring a thrilling opening match between Harbhajan Singh’s Manipal Tigers and Irfan Pathan’s Konark Suryas Odisha on September 20. This franchise-based tournament will feature a total of 25 matches across four Indian cities, culminating in a grand final on October 16. Six teams will battle it out throughout the competition, which promises to be packed with action as cricket legends from around the world take to the field.
The tournament will be held in four different locations, beginning in Jodhpur, where the Barkatullah Khan Stadium will host six matches. The opening game between Manipal Tigers and Konark Suryas Odisha will kick off the event on September 20, and Jodhpur’s leg will run until September 26. From there, the tournament will move to Surat, where the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium will stage another six matches from September 27 to October 2.
“Legends League Cricket has witnessed the highest level of competition, cricketing action and fair play across seasons in all the matches that have been played. As league commissioner, it is my job in this league is to ensure that the cricketing part of it is run properly and this season will be no different. There is pride attached to what we do, and I am looking forward to another exciting season,” Ravi Shastri was quoted from a release from LLC.
The action continues in Jammu, where the Maulana Azad Stadium will host six matches from October 3 to 8. Finally, the tournament reaches its climax in Srinagar, which will host cricket for the first time in 40 years. The Bakshi Stadium will hold seven matches, including the final, from October 9 to 16. Srinagar’s leg will include some of the most crucial matches, leading up to the knockout stages.
The tournament’s knockout rounds will consist of a qualifier on October 12, followed by the eliminator on October 13, the semi-final on October 14, and the grand final on October 16. Fans are especially excited as this season will see the debut of Indian legends such as Shikhar Dhawan, Dinesh Karthik, Ambati Rayudu, Dhawal Kulkarni, and Kedar Jadhav in the Legends League Cricket.
In the previous edition, fans were treated to performances by iconic players like Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Mohammad Kaif, Aaron Finch, Martin Guptill, Gautam Gambhir, Chris Gayle, Hashim Amla, and Ross Taylor, alongside 110 other legendary cricketers. This season promises to be just as exhilarating, with cricket lovers anticipating memorable moments from some of the game’s greatest players.
The tournament’s schedule is packed, with key matchups across the different legs. Jodhpur will host major matches, including Konark Suryas Odisha vs. Manipal Tigers, India Capitals vs. Hyderabad Team, and Southern Superstars vs. Gujarat Team. Surat will feature exciting contests such as Hyderabad Team vs. Gujarat Team and India Capitals vs. Manipal Tigers. In Jammu, standout matches will include Manipal Tigers vs. Hyderabad Team and India Capitals vs. Konark Suryas Odisha. Srinagar will host several crucial games, including Hyderabad Team vs. Southern Superstars and the all-important finals.
