In the early stages of the game, NEUFC took an aggressive approach, launching attacks from the flanks. The first significant opportunity occurred in the eighth minute when Romain Philippoteaux’s shot was blocked by Shillong’s defense. Shillong, adopting a counter-attacking strategy, managed to take the lead in the 17th minute with a challenging shot from Brazilian Douglas Rosa Tardin that found the back of the net.
