On Monday, New Zealand delivered a decisive victory against Pakistan in the Women’s T20 World Cup, effectively extinguishing the last hopes for the Indian women’s team to qualify for the semifinals. With this win, both New Zealand and Australia secured their spots in the semifinals from Group A.
Upcoming ODI Series Against New Zealand
Following the conclusion of the T20 World Cup, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the upcoming schedule for the Indian women’s cricket team. On the same day, BCCI confirmed a three-match ODI series against New Zealand, set to commence on October 24.

In a statement released by BCCI, it was stated: “The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the schedule for the upcoming three-match ODI series for Team India (Senior Women) against New Zealand.” This series is part of the ICC Women’s Championship and will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Match Schedule
All three matches of the ODI series will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, with the first match scheduled for October 24. The subsequent matches will take place on October 27 and October 29, all starting at 1:30 PM IST.
India Fails to Qualify for Knockout Stage
In the meantime, the Indian women’s team was unsuccessful in qualifying for the knockout stage of the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the UAE. They finished third in Group A with two wins and two losses. The team suffered a significant loss to New Zealand by 58 runs in their opening match and narrowly lost to Australia by 9 runs on Sunday. Although they secured victories against Sri Lanka and arch-rivals Pakistan, it was not sufficient for them to progress to the knockout stage.
From Group A, Australia (with four wins in four matches) and New Zealand (with three wins and one loss) advanced to the semifinals.
