Indian national team former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has associated with MasterCard in order to encourage ongoing attempts to boost digital payments in India.
With the effect of the partnership, MS Dhoni will be entitled to raise awareness for the digital payment in India and educate Indian consumers and merchants through a campaign about the safety norms associated with the brand.
Seeing the current data of burgeoning 95 percent of Indian consumers still stuck to the conventional modes of payment , the Cash-to-Digital campaign has been framed to urge people to go digital in tier 2 and 3 cities.
Commenting on his partnership with MasterCard, Mahendra Singh Dhoni said in reports, “As a proud resident of Ranchi, a small city, and having travelled across the world, I relate to the importance of safe and secure payments that build confidence to live, work, and play in today’s digital economy. I am very excited to join hands with Mastercard to support the Government of India’s agenda of creating a digitally empowered, networked and knowledge society.”
Earlier in 2018, MasterCard has called in actor Irfan Khan as its face in order to boost cash-less economy in India. At that time, MasterCard had designed a marketing campaign featuring Irfan khan in which the actor can be seen educating mass about how convenient it is to go digital, with the use of several payment gateways synchronized to your mobile phone.
Mobile phones which can be used as the banks can directly make payment while purchasing n umber of products online taking from daily uses groceries to high-end gadgets.
