It’s your muscle memory that is going to play a major role in the gym as it reopens.
What exactly does it mean?
According to the dictionary, Muscle Memory is, “the ability to reproduce a particular movement without conscious thought, acquired as a result of frequent repetition of that movement.”
How does it work?
Imagine you are going to join a new company; you need take the assistance of Google Map or so to get to the venue. After a few days let’s say after a week or two, you reach the newly joined office without any assistance even if you are talking on a phone. Well, the phenomenon is called muscle memory which is nothing but a mutual connection in between your mind and muscle.
How it is going to benefit in the gym?
According to some finding’s published in an article of NYTimes, It finds that if muscles have been trained in the past, they seem to develop a molecular memory of working out that lingers through a prolonged period of inactivity, and once we start training again, this “muscle memory” could speed the process by which we regain our former muscular strength and size. The findings suggest, in effect, that skipping workouts now need not guarantee enfeeblement later, and if we forget what fitness once felt like, our muscles recollect.
So apparently, as soon as the gym reopens we can head back to the normal routine and with the help of muscle memory, we can hit our lost physique in a couple of week. Some Good right!!!
However, there are a few things you need to know. Your muscle memory will do the same that you have trained them. In Case, if you have been doing some workout wrong, there is a great probability that you keep continuing the wrong form of exercise. Hence, in some cases the age-old saying Practice make perfect things, go in vain as you should rather concentrate in right practice make things perfect.
Nevertheless, if you are someone who knows how to train muscle and are well acquainted with the right forms and sets, then nothing can stop you in getting your physique back. It’s your brain-muscle connection that allows you to regain fitness once your gym reopens and everybody hits to the floor. Cheers!
