In the last few years, MMA has emerged as a leading combat sport in India. In contrast to its versatilities that include different forms of martial arts, MMA happens to be the best regime to follow if you want to be fit. Besides, teaching some real-life fighting skills to tackle any unwanted elements on the road, MMA also strengthens the mental as well as physical wellbeing.
Talking more about its benefits, Paayel from Sportz Business Magazine talks to Rohit Nair, MMA fighter, coach, and an official of MMA Federation of India where he has shared his insights over the future of the combat sport in India.
Q: When one can expect your comeback to Octagon?
I am currently getting ready to fight I’m in talks with a couple of big promotions in India as well as outside. Let’s see how it goes.
Q: How do you bring balance to your celebrity fitness coaching and your own training for the most-awaited comeback?
A lot of my clients are very dedicated to their training which provides me with motivation to train myself as well.
Q: MMA is an amalgamation of different forms of martial arts and fighting styles, how do you see Indians are responding to the new combat sports In Indian.
Indian fighters are really adapting well to MMA and I’m sure in some time we will see a lot of fighters on the international stage.
Q: Being an official from the MMA Federation of India, what are the things that you guys are doing to promote combat sports in India and calling more talents on board?
Currently, we are in the ideation stage due to the pandemic but next year you can expect some big events from our side.
Q: How do you see combat sports training as one of the greatest ways to attain personal fitness?
Definitely combat sports is one of the best ways to be fit as fighting is the ultimate thing in life. However fit, if a person fails to protect themselves then it is all of no use.
Q: Talking about your association with celebrities, can you share one of your exciting projects with your favorite celebrity?
There are a lot of things in store for the future but currently, I can’t reveal much about any future project.
Q: What are the things that you are planning to hit in the next couple of years?
I’m planning to fight professionally within the next year and will also expand my training so that I can teach everyone who really wants to learn combat sports.
