U.S. Polo Assn. announces its sponsorship of the highly-anticipated 2019 Manipur Statehood Day Women’s Polo Tournament to be held in Manipur, India from Jan. 17-21, 2019. For the fourth consecutive year, this unique event – India’s first and only international women’s polo tournament – features women’s polo teams from around the world, solidifying Manipur as the premier destination for women’s polo. The event is presented by sponsor Manipur Tourism, produced by Polo Yatra, the women’s polo initiative of Huntre! Equine, and organized by the All Manipur Polo Association.
Teams from the United States, Canada, Argentina, and Kenya, courtesy of Incredible India, as well as from the Indian Polo Association and Manipur, will compete in the league field tournament. As the official apparel supplier, U.S. Polo Assn. will outfit each of the six teams with official jerseys. Additionally, U.S. Polo Assn. will provide hats and shirts for staff and volunteers, as well as have signage throughout the event promoting women’s polo.
“We’re excited to see the Manipur Women’s Polo Tournament return to our region and are pleased to support the event efforts by outfitting the entire staff and officials with our branded product,” said Alok Dubey, CEO, Arvind Brands, U.S. Polo Assn.’s India partner. “This helps us reinforce the authenticity and awareness of U.S. Polo Assn. worldwide.”
The 4th Manipur Statehood Day Women’s Polo Tournament 2019 will be broadcast and live-streamed via Door Darshan Kendra Imphal, part of India’s national public television network. The event will also be broadcast on Al Jazeera Kuala Lumpur on its weekly program 101 East, its top-rated news magazine that covers current events across the entire Asia and Pacific regions.
