The #SSGGandhiMarch will be flagged off on 12th March and include in-app activities to keep the participants engaged

With a view to encourage people to take up walking as their daily fitness routine, StepSetGo, India’s largest fitness rewarding platform, launches #SSGGandhiMarch on the 91st anniversary of the Dandi March. Spanning from the 12th of March to the 6th of April, the 26-day long campaign would include various in-app activities to keep the participants interested and motivated to continue their walk towards fitness. The campaign has two goals, to achieve 20 billion steps in 26 days and to get the maximum number of people to take 10 thousand steps on day one.

StepSetGoDandi March has been an integral part of Indian history and StepSetGo has carefully curated this campaign to acknowledge its values, learnings and achievements that resonate with their core belief. The idea behind the campaign is to communicate 2 of the 4 principles of Mahatma Gandhi – truth (Satya) and welfare of all (Sarvodaya). The truth here refers to staying true to one’s commitment to fitness, while the welfare of all involves everyone taking the first step towards a healthy lifestyle.

Since its launch, StepSetGo has thrived on a unique hook of rewarding users for simply walking. With this in mind, there would also be a referral challenge where users can invite their peers to walk towards a common goal, fitness. The people on top of the referral leaderboard will be rewarded with Instax Mini Camera, Amazon Firestick and much more. StepSetGo has also created a special website for the campaign where people can get live updates of the collective goal progress. The site also contains many other interesting statistics and snippets like the amount of petrol being saved by participants by walking, the total distance covered, the top 10 cities contributing the most towards the collective goal and much more.

Talking about the initiative, Mr Shivjeet Ghatge, CEO & Co-founder, StepSetGo, said, “It is our constant effort to motivate our existing and potential users to help create their fitness journey and sustain it to build a healthy lifestyle. Historic events like such have seen large groups engaging to achieve a goal and have always set examples of leading with solidarity. #SSGGandhiMarch endeavours to create a nationwide movement of solidarity towards a common goal of being fit together. We know 20 Billion steps is a massive goal that would require a tall commitment from each individual, but more importantly, it will require everyone to invite their friends and family to also join the march and contribute towards the collective goal. We hope to see good participation and promise to make this journey as interesting and motivating as possible through our application.

This is the third initiative taken by the brand since March 2020. Earlier in December 2020, StepSetGo joined forces with Habitat for Humanity India where a walking challenge with a registration fee to raise funds was created to help support families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to that in March 2020, right after the lockdown was announced, the brand launched a 21-day lockdown walking challenge to encourage people to walk in the confines of their homes, stay motivated and earn exciting rewards. To facilitate this, StepSetGo tweaked its algorithm to capture the indoor steps of the users. The 21-day lockdown challenge was strategically curated keeping in mind the belief that it takes 21 days to build a habit. This included 7 types of challenges spread over 21 days to win more SSG Coins. Users could redeem these coins for exciting offers, freebies and exclusive discounts. Both the campaigns saw a huge response from its existing users and motivated new users to join the app and be part of the fitness revolution StepSetGo desires to drive in India.
