Presenting all Sports Equipment under one terrace, Decathlon has opened up its first Cambodian store in the capital city of Phnom Penh on August 11.
French Sports equipment and apparel company, Decathlon in a move to follow their tagline ‘Sport for all, all for sport’ has roped in the kingdom of wonder. Being one of the world’s largest sporting goods retailer, Decathlon has invested in a store after working attuned with the local suppliers for more than seven years in Cambodia.
Incepted in 1976, this France based sports equipment retail giant has more than 1300 stores and works in over 42 nations. Sen Sok branch of Decathlon in Aeon mall 2 sets the company’s 17th store in Southeastern Asia.
Stating more about their future expansion in Phnom Penh and subsequently in other cities of the country such as Siem Reap CEO of Decathlon Cambodia, Guillaume Cutuli said,” We have been working in Cambodia for seven years now, mainly to manage the production of our sport equipment with local industrial partners,” and added “Cambodians are sportsmen and women, and as the country’s economy has gotten more robust and consumers are becoming more wellness-conscious, it is the right time to invest in retail.”
Since 2011, when the decathlon entered the Cambodian market focusing on the qualitative products along with local partner suppliers, the French Sports equipment, and apparel company has decided to mount a store.
The company moreover has decided to recruit local underprivileged youth after giving them a deliberate training session.
Guillaume Cutuli also underlined Cambodian sports Person and their purchasing capability and said, “Cambodians are sportsmen and women, and as the country’s economy has gotten more robust and consumers are becoming more wellness-conscious, it is the right time to invest in retail.”
The new decathlon store occupies around 2500 square meter of the ground floor in Aeon Mall 2 in Sen Sok and Stocks Sports equipment of several forms of sports like hiking, cycling, Swimming, Badminton, and football perfectly segregated for all ages.
