The global Over-The-Top (OTT) Service DAZN has refreshed its Formula One Rights in Japan for the forthcoming season under a sub-licensing deal with Sports Asia. The Global sports streaming Platform, DAZN will telecast all 21 races live of the Motorsports championship, beginning this weekend at the Australian Grand Prix.
Apart from this live-race telecast, the programming roster under the OTT platform, it will also include pre-race events like practice and qualifying events as well as highlights across the 2019 series. The deal ensures that the coverage of live racing featured into the platform’s diversifying portfolio in japan among other including famous J1 League, Japanese Soccer’s Top flight.
DAZN extending its motorsports rights to Formula Two and Formula Three championship for the very first time will showcase Japanese drivers including Nobuharu Matsushita, Yuki Tsunoda and Teppei Natori.
As part of the deal, DAZN will continue to provide original shoulder content such as its multi-angle programme F1 Zone and its behind-the-scenes production F1 Lab, which will be shown on the Friday following each race.
DAZN’s F1 LAB Special: 2019 Season Preview will also introduce the drivers and teams including analysis from team testing in Barcelona last month.
