Sanju Samson a rising Indian cricketer has been signed as a brand ambassador by the Australian major cricket ball Manufacturer Kookaburra Sport Pty Limited.
At present playing for IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals, the young wicket-keeper batsman, Samson become the maiden Indian IPL Star to have a role like this with Kookaburra.
With the move, Kookaburra will further try to tap hard Indian cricketing market.
Now on, Samson will be using Kookaburra Kahuna Bat and Kookaburra Wicket-Keeping gloves and Pads in the ongoing IPL 2019 from tomorrow, 7th April says Kookaburra’s Head of Communication Shannon Gill.
The 24 year old Kerala Boy Samson has been playing extremely well for the Indian Cricket since playing for the Under-19 team but it was only after two IPL seasons, this star has grabbed everyone’s eyeballs.
It was only after playing a smashing inning of 102 not out from 55 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad, which led him to join ace cricketer’s list including Virat Kohli, Virender Sehwag and Murali Vijay, Samson got lot of hustle around his super rocking batting.
Rajasthan teammate and fellow Kookaburra ambassador Jos Buttler this week welcomed Samson to Team Kookaburra, declaring him as a player to watch:
“Welcome to the Kookaburra family Sanju Samson – an absolute superstar in the making,” Buttler said.
Samson says that the Kookaburra brand is one that he always aspired to: “I’ve always wanted to play with the Kookaburra brand. I saw my idols like AB De Villiers and Kumar Sangakkara use it when I was growing up, and now I see my own Rajasthan teammate Jos Buttler using it,” Samson said.
“I’m very happy to be with Kookaburra and think we’ll have a great partnership.”
Kookaburra was established in 1890 and is the world leader in cricket balls. Test, ODI and Twenty20 balls are hand-crafted in its Melbourne factory, but in recent years there has been a new focus in India.
“In 2014 we opened a manufacturing facility in India. This has taken one hundred – plus years of knowledge from making cricket balls in Australia to India, so we can now make balls for grassroots cricket in India. This complements our role as the official ball supplier to the IPL,” Kookaburra Managing Director Brett Elliot said.
“Having Sanju Samson, one of the rising stars of the IPL, coming on board as a brand ambassador is another sign of our commitment to India.”
