Nike has announced its commitment towards young athletes through different multi-year engagement yesterday in London.
The London-based youth organization, London Youth Games is a key accomplice in this engagement. It reached almost 140,000 young people across 33 boroughs in 33 sports. The organization is providing ample opportunities to the cities amateur sportsperson for more than 30 years. Some of eminent athletes who received mentor ship under them are Raheem Sterling, Jadon Sancho, Alex Scott, Dina Asher Smith and Mo Farah.
Nike has taken the aim of emboldening the capabilities of London Youth Games. The goal is here is to boost the long-term participation by serving more than 200,000 young people by 2022.
Nicky Affleck, the interim CEO of London games said in his statement, “Creating opportunities for every young Londoner to play sport is an unwavering belief we both share. The unique partnership with Nike represents a game changing moment for London Youth Games and will allow us to inspire and enable more young people to play sport more often.”
Another organization that will receive support from the sports giant is Virgin Sport. It will operate in the borough of Hackney. This deal was finalized during Hackney Festival of Fitness which is considered to be the most diverse sports festival of the city.
Other organizations that will be partnering in this endeavor are, Football Beyond Borders, Love Basketball and Gloves not Gunz.
