Amul has been named as the principal sponsor of Afghanistan Cricket Team. Afghan team will be sporting their logo on their jersey in ICC 2019 world cup.

The world Cup is set to kick off from 30th May. Not only jerseys but training kits of players will also feature Amul logo.

The managing director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation ,RS Sodhi commented on the deal, “Amul will be principal sponsor of Afghanistan Cricket Team in the coming ICC world cup. We believe that Afghanistan will be a strong contender as it is the fastest growing team.”

GCMMF is in charge of marketing diary product under the brand. They export product worth of 200 crore into Afghanistan. According to Director Sodhi, the company is also planning for a TV campaign.

Asadullah Khan, CEO of Afghanistan Cricket Board said, “This is a big moment for Afghanistan Cricket and we are extremely happy that Amul will sponsor us for the world cup. This is the first time we will play in the world cup as a full member and the preparations are good. We hope to do well.”

This is not the first time the brand is associating with a foreign cricket team. Before Afghanistan, they also sponsored Holland and New Zealand cricket team.
