Formula One calendar will feature Dutch Grand Prix after thirty years. The global motorsport series will be conducted from 2020.
The historic track of Zandvoort will be the venue of the race for at least three years, according to a multiyear agreement. Before the race, the track is scheduled to get a facelift. The circuit needs to match the international standard of Formula One race.
Dutch Beer brand, Heineken which is a global partner of Formula One will be the title sponsor for this event too.
Before the Dutch race, a new race in Vietnam’s Hanoi was also introduced.
Formula One’s Chairman, Chase Carey said, “From the beginning of our tenure in Formula One, we said we wanted to race in new venues, while also respecting the sports historic roots in Europe. In recent years, we’ve seen a resurgence of interest in Formula One in Holland, mainly due to the enthusiastic support for the talented Max Verstappen, as seen from the sea of orange at so many races. No doubt this will be the dominant color in the Zandvoort grandstands next year.”
Next year, the event will be the 31st edition of the Dutch Grand Prix. The race was first held in 1952, and last featured on the global motorsport’s calendar in 1985.
