Uber, the transportation network company is consorting with ICC for the upcoming men’s world cup. The international cricket governing body said the partnership is first of its kind with the food and mobility startup.

ICC men’s world cricket world cup will begin from 30th May and conclude on 14th July in England and Wales . Uber last year supported the first-ever standalone ICC women’s T20 world cup in the West Indies. As part of the partnership, they launched a campaign called ‘#JerseysKnowsGender’ in collaboration with different personalities from different field. It was to encourage more women to participate in sports and to generate support for the T20 championship.

ICC chief Executive, Manu Sawhney expressed they were impressed with Uber’s commitment towards the sport during last year’s Women’s T20 World Cup. The company helped out to bring so many inspiring stories with their #RoadSheMade campaign. Uber must have innovative ideas up their sleeves for this tournament also, believes Sawhney.

Brooks Entwistle, the Chief International Business Officer, Uber commented, “We are excited to further our commitment to cricket as a global sport and bring our community of riders and eaters, drivers and delivery partners closer to each other and a game they love so much”

“Cricket is passionately followed in eight participating countries, where Uber and Uber Eats are an integral part of people’s day-to-day life. We believe this platform allows fans to pursue their passion while we take care of their commute and food requirements.”
