Today, Flipkart announced they will launch the new in-house fitness and sports brand called Adrenex. It will offer more than 200 products under the umbrella of fitness and lifestyle.

The Walmart-owned ecommerce giant said it will be catering to the fitness and sports enthusiasts of the country. Adarsh K. Menon, the Vice President of private brands, electronics and furniture at Flipkart commented on the launch, “The aim of Flipkart’s Private Brand has always been to solve for our customers’ unique needs across categories, by providing them with the best quality at affordable prices. By launching Adrenex, we are looking to better serve Indians who are becoming increasingly health and fitness conscious, but may not have access to good quality equipment.”

In the wake of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Adrenex is offering an array cricket gears. The brand also houses other major sports equipments like basketball, volleyball and football. Adrenex is contemplating to add other fitness and sports products like treadmill, home gym setups, cycles, skates and many others to its portfolio.

Walmart recently visited several offices of Flipkart in India and things are expected to take a positive turn. It has been a year since the US retail giant took a stake worth of 16 billion in the company.

Flipkart also has a brand tie-up with French retailer Decathlon. An agreement was signed in 2017 between the two parties and under the pact, the entire range of Decathlon products sold in offline stores were to be listed on Flipkart. After the launch of Adrenex it is unclear yet whether that agreement will be extended or not.
