Chinese digital media platform, Zhibo will live stream Tour de France, via its official platform through to 2021.

The partnership will begin this year with Tour de France depart being the first event to stream on 6th July. The race will be concluded on 28th July at Champ Elysees in Paris.

As well as the live stream, Sina Sports reports that China sports Zhibo will beef out its race coverage with additional content and new features.

The agreement is the latest broadcasting deal secured by China Sport Zhibo. The streaming platform claims to have more than 15 million registered users. It already roped in live streaming rights for Table Tennis World Tour, the world badminton tour and the World federation of Snooker events.

The news also marks the latest digital rights deal for the Tour De France. In June, subscription steaming platform FloSports secured the rights to show live and on-demand coverage of the competition exclusively in Canada from 2020 to 2023.

The 106th edition of the cycling competition begins this Saturday, with team Ineos’ Geraint Thomas the defending champion.
