WADA or the World Anti-doping Agency announced today the suspension of New Delhi’s National Dope Testing Laboratory for six months. Not adhering the to the international standard led to the suspension.
The suspension, which took effect on Tuesday, prohibits the NDTL from carrying out any any-doping activities, including all analyses of urine and blood samples.
Any samples not yet tested or undergoing a confirming procedure will be moved to another WADA-credited laboratory.
WADA said in a testament that it had found non-conformities with the international standards for laboratories during a site visit.
If the laboratories satisfies World Anti-doping Agency that it has addressed the issues it may apply for early reinstatement.
The agency also said it could extend the suspicion for another six months should the laboratory not address non-conformities.
