Putting a full stop over his Nike sponsorship deal, Spanish Football icon Andres Iniesta switched to Asics signing a multi-year deal with Japanese Footwear and sportswear major .
With the new sign came into effect it will put an end to a 19 year old deal with the US sportswear manufacturer Nike of the 34 year old Iniesta who is currently playing for Japan for J-League club Vissel Kobe following Barcelona as his last Football club.
Now, Iniesta will support Asics boot promoting its campaign and commercial of future. As per the company reports, Inisesta will also pose as an advisory role in product development.
“I am committed to promoting the game from base levels in Japan to reduce the differences between Asian football and the rest of the world. I think this movement is another positive step to achieve this goal.”
Asics CEO Motoi Oyama said, “We’re thrilled to be working with Iniesta as an incredible talent and an inspiration to the industry and fans across the globe.”
The Japanese footwear and apparel manufacturer has plans to customize an Iniesta signature color model for its DS Light X-Fly 4 line which will blend Vissel’s official team color- crimson red on Iniesta’s boot. The limited edition bot will be available for sale by November as select Asics stores and official Vissel Kobe retailers in Japan.
