The Indian Army in Kashmir organized Run for Fun and Walkathon at the Old Air Field Military Station in Srinagar on Sunday. The army organized Run for Fun to motivate youngsters.

This year the theme of the event was ‘Youngistan Dil Se Bhag’. Almost 210 girls and boys between the ages of 14 and 18 participated in the event. Army officials from civil administration flagged off the Run for Fun and Walkathon and the distances for the event were three and four kilometers, respectively.

Brigadier Tarun Narula, Commander 619 (Independent) Air Defence Brigade, told the youngsters were delighted to join in the event. They will proceed to organize more such programs to motivate youngsters towards fitness.

“In Budgam district, we collected youngsters from various schools and organized walkathon and walkathon. And this was organized inside the Army area so that the youth can observe what the Army in Kashmir is doing for their progress. This is a great motivation for everyone. When I approached the youth, they were full of excitement,” Narula.

“We organized a related marathon and walkathon in Anantnag district in the past month, which was a big achievement. We will proceed to organize such events,” he added. The walkathon was completed with the distribution of attractive cash prizes, incentives, and participation certificates for all.
