Joining the Sponsorship bandwagon of Pro Kabaddi league, Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) – global leaders in the Off-Highway Tire market today announced its first ever multi-franchise sponsorship deal in the indigenous Kabaddi League, signing seven franchisees out of 12 active this season.
BKT will now come forward as the official tire partner for these seven marquee teams- Patna Pirates, Puneri Paltan, Tamil Thalaivas, Telugu Titans, U.P. Yoddha, Bengaluru Bulls and Haryana Steelers for the ongoing season. As per the deal, the brand image of BKT will be visible on the official kits of the enlisted teams besides Tire brand’s presence across the teams’ in-stadia branding.
The decision of associating with the Indian Pro Kabaddi league came in the wake of BKT’s passion and enthusiasm for sports and its “Growing Together” philosophy.
With the association, BKT not only uses its brand’s reach to promote Indian native sport of Kabaddi but also extends its support for the young talent to grow through the sport.
It was through the strategic efforts and initiatives of IMG-Reliance, BKT’s exclusive sports consulting agency in India, that the partnership with the Pro Kabaddi League could establish.
While commenting on this development, Mr Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director, BKT Tires, said: “I am glad about this partnership since kabaddi has been one of the few sports which originated and evolved in our country. Being able to support some of the most competitive kabaddi teams in the country makes us proud. We appreciate that the viewership and followers for these teams has grown exponentially over the years. Naturally, it was an easy decision for us to partner with popular and successful teams such as these.”
The participating teams in Pro Kabaddi League have been divided into two zones of six teams each, where each team will be playing a set of 15 intra-zone and 7 inter-zone matches, prior to the anticipated play-offs. The play-offs stage will comprise of 3 adrenaline filled eliminators, 2 qualifiers and the finals scheduled to take place in Mumbai.
