Calibre One, a leading global executive search boutique specializing in building leadership teams for innovators, entrepreneurs and companies undergoing technology or digital transformation, has appointed Pete Leibman as principal at Calibre One. Based in Washington D.C., Leibman will help grow Calibre One’s consumer digital and health and wellness practices.
“During these last few years, we’ve seen a tremendous amount of innovation and disruption in direct-to-consumer businesses – especially in consumer health and wellness,” said Tom Barnes, managing partner. “Pete’s relationships and expertise will help us expand our executive search work in these high-growth areas.”
Prior to joining Calibre One, Leibman launched Stronger Talent, an executive search and consulting firm. He wrote an Amazon bestseller titled “Work Stronger: Habits for More Energy, Less Stress, and Higher Performance at Work.” Before that, he worked in the technology and consumer practices at Heidrick & Struggles.
“Digital health and wellness are booming,” said Leibman. “There are thousands of health and wellness apps, and there are the categories of connected fitness, wearables and devices, sleep tech, healthy eating and nutrition, mental wellness and others. Tech giants like Amazon, Apple, Google and Meta are also getting more involved in these areas. The competition for executive talent in digital health and wellness is going to be even more competitive in the future.”
Leibman’s career began in professional sports working for the NBA’s Washington Wizards. He was the franchise’s top salesperson for three years. While there, he created its Sports Careers Day, an event attended by over 25,000 people.
Leibman graduated Phi Beta Kappa from The Johns Hopkins University. He teaches sports conditioning classes and has competed in the Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) World Championships. He volunteers with Back on My Feet, a non-profit that combats homelessness through the power of fitness and community support.
