I-league champion Chennai City FC announced a strategic partnership with German Sports goods supplier uhlsport to develop grassroots football in Tamil Nadu and across India.

The German company Uhlsport started in 1948, offers football product and handball products under the Kepma brand, and is the official supplier of the Bundesliga teams 1.FC Koln and Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Dominik Solleder, the managing director of Uhlsport GmbH commented on the association, “We are delighted to announce the new cooperation with Chennai FC City to support a sustainable growth of football education in India. With our well-developed relationship with this prospering Indian club, we are keen to enter the Indian market and have them experience our good quality sporting goods. Uhlsport also wants to associate with other sporting organizations and tap into the growing sporting market in the country.”

Rohit Romesh, owner and director of Chennai City FC said, “We are delighted to have such an esteemed brand on board with us. We believe that this partnership will work wonders for the development of grassroots football in the state of Tamil Nadu. We will be focusing on using the equipment’s exclusively for all the grassroots festivals and programs conducted by us.”
