To promote cycling and create awareness about fitness, Cyclothon-2020 was organized in the Karnal city under the ‘cycling for a change’ challenge initiated by Smart City Limited.

Along with hundreds of citizens, Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, also the CEO of Smart City, Vikram Singh, Commissioner, and Ganga Ram Punia, Superintendent of Police, Karnal Municipal Corporation, participated in the Cyclothon and pedaled in the city to encourage cycling.

The Cyclothon 2020 began from Sector-8 and completed at the same point after moving through several city roads on Sunday.

Calculating this initiative’s intentions, the DC said that we should choose cycling to save the environment from pollution as the number of vehicles on the roads increases day by day. “We have practiced cycling for a change concept that will inspire people to adopt cycling,” the DC said.

He requested that the citizens adopt cycling by the Cyclothon initiative in their daily routine to save and maintain the environment and people’s health. SP Punia also urged people to cycle and also requested them to say no to drugs.

The DC and SP have also launched a signature campaign apart from the Cyclothon, administering an oath against drugs to the people present there.
