In India, the scarcity of high-end sports complex has always remained as a matter of concern. However, amid such discrepancies, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has been quite active in delivering state-of-the-art sports infrastructure in the Delhi National Capital Region. The DDA (Delhi Development Authority) which was instituted in the year 1957 caters a wide range of housing, offices, and sports complex solutions in accordance with the Delhi Development Act.
Being membership oriented, these sports complexes offer different kinds of membership, where one can “Pay and Play” to avail the several sports facilities available there. In that way, the maintenance of the DDA complexes can be made possible with this amount coming from membership and allied charges received from licensing snacks bars and ProShop etc. in the complex.
The Authority has established some of the best in class sports complexes in Delhi region. According to some sources, it has been in the news that the authority has approved seven more sporting sites in Dwarka, Rohini, and Narela. It should be noted, that Dwarka Township has itself been allotted four sports complexes. In addition to cricket, these DDA Sports complexes will also provide facilities for other sports including football and Hockey.

Siri Fort Sports Complex
Built for Asian Games in 1982 by the DDA, the Siri Fort Sports complex is one of the premium sports facilities located in the lush green periphery of South Delhi. The sports complex which falls in the vicinity of Siri Fort Auditorium Complex, host more than 27 different sporting facilities. Some of the major formats include Basketball, Swimming Pool, Squash, Pitch and Putt Golf, Billiards, Snooker, Shooting, Skating, Tennis, Badminton Courts, Yoga, Aerobics, Gym, Calisthenics, Football, Cricket, Jogging track, etc. Being located in the Delhi’s most green part i.e. South Delhi, the sports complex attracts lots of athletes due to its sheer aesthetic value.

Vasant Kunj Sports Complex
Just located on the way to the airport near Mahipalpur, DDA’s Vasant Kunj Sports Complex is yet another qualitative sports facility available in Delhi.
The sports facility which has come was started in 2004, has two different parts near in Vasant Kunj only. In its vibrant list of activities, the sports complex houses synthetic tennis courts, table tennis hall, badminton court, skating ring, squash courts, yoga, multi-gym, billiards /snooker, swimming pool , children park, tennis practice wall, basketball court, mini basketball, steam sauna and chilled bath and sports medicine center. The unique part of the complex is that No matter which time you come to join, you will get membership open for all sports disciplines.

In Saket Sports Complex, temporary membership is available. Non-Member or New User can apply for Temporary Membership which stands valid for straight 3 months. Schools and colleges can pre-book the sports facilities for their students in bulk on weekdays at special rates. Besides, the governments sponsored schools and colleges can further book these sports complexes at reasonable rates.

Major Dhyan Chand Sports Complex
The Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium got inspired its name from the former Indian Hockey star Dhyan Chand. The Sports complex which has an area of 4.28 Hectare is located in Eastern part of Delhi in Ashok Vihar. With its membership open for all, one can attain a copy of membership form at the counter at rupees 100.
Following the same tune of offering concession rate to government schools while booking for any sporting event, the complex also arranges sports facilities for the schools and colleges on weekdays.

Yamuna Sports Complex
Inaugurated in 1999, The Yamuna Sports Complex is located in East Delhi Region of Surajmal Vihar. At the time of 2010 Commonwealth Games, the sports complex had served as one of its organizing venues. Perfectly, designed for sports enthusiasts of East Delhi, the Yamuna Sports Complex has all kinds of sports facilities for several disciplines of sports. The Sports complex is well connected to the Delhi metro, having Karkardooma Metro station as the nearest metro located at about just 2 kilometres. With state of the art Gymnasium facilities, the sports complex houses clay and synthetic tennis courts and cricket ground. Besides, the complex has AstroTurf hockey ground facility.
Being the main venue for various international level competitive sports, the complex was the main venue for many such completions. Having DDA at the helm, the Sports complex has much superior’s facilities than that of privately owned ones. The complex can accommodate more than 500 cars in one go, which is, in fact, a quite tough job to arrange at the time of international sports competition for any other privately owned sports complexes.
At present the complex feature several sports facilities including a gym and indoor games complex, hard-court and clay tennis courts, archery stadium, indoor badminton stadium, Olympic size swimming pool, hockey and football stadiums
Apart from that, there are also basketball courts, skating ring, athletic track; cricket coaching grounds are available in the premise.
