The Sports channel of Discovery Communications India, DSport will broadcast the round 2 draw for Asian qualifiers to FIFA World cup Qatar 2022 preliminary competition. The Round two draw will be shown live and exclusive from 2:30 pm on 17th July.
While commenting on the deal, the M.D of Lex Sportel R.C Venkateish said,”This is a big opportunity for us. FIFA World Cup is the most anticipated tournament in the world. We as a broadcaster are overwhelmed to become a part of this epic journey. We hope we can further our association with the sporting extravaganza as we move closer to the event.”
In the initial first round of the Preliminary Joint Qualification, Teams holding ranks from 35-46 were pitted against each other in two pools. Advancing to the 2nd round, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Guam, Malaysia, and Mongolia however the decision on the match between Macau and Sri Lanka is still pending.
There will be top forty national teams who will be drawn further into five groups of comprising eight teams at the 2nd draw scheduled to be held at the AFC House, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The seeding of the draw is based on the FIFA/Coca Cola Rankings as of June 14th, 2019.
