Whoever thought of a student completing her Mass Communication from School of Communication, Manipal University, before auditioning for Femina Miss India, and got a law scholarship at Newcastle University will pursue a Bollywood career instead.
We are talking about Esha Gupta, who participated in Femina Miss India in 2007, where she won Miss Photogenic’s title and came 3rd to go on to compete in Miss India International. After representing India at the Miss International pageant, Esha Gupta made her Bollywood debut with Mahesh Bhatt’s Jannat 2 opposite Emraan Hashmi in the lead role. This crime thriller was the beginning of her journey in the Bollywood industry. For her debut in Jannat 2, she won Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and was highly praised with her next portrayal in the political drama Chakravyuh in 2012.
After this, Esha was seen in Humshakals, Raaz 3D, Rustom, Baadshaho, and Total Dhamaal. There are rumors that this gorgeous diva can also be seen in the upcoming Hera Pheri 3. Esha has always been appreciated for beauty and acting craft.
Here’s Esha Gupta, who is ruling many hearts and is quite active about her fitness and workout routine on social media platforms. In a fitness-centric conversation with Paayel from Sportz Business Magazine, she talks about what is the definition of fitness for her, favorite exercise, cheat meal, the secret of her beauty, her bucket list, and more! Esha says size and body type doesn’t matter, but health does.
Q: How do you define ‘Fitness’ and What is your fitness mantra?
I think fitness is more about how we feel confident in our own bodies. Fitness is about health. I don’t think being size zero or being lean or being bulky is to do with fitness, as no one has the same body type, but health is most important.
Q: What exercises do you prefer in your menstruation period and how it is important to exercise at that time?
I cannot say if women should workout during their periods or not, but I prefer to do either strength exercise to get my muscles stronger or yoga to help me ease the pain. Though there are times are I don’t train at all since I suffer from heavy pain. So women should do how they feel, but some amazing yoga asanas help ease the pain.
Q: What things you do to maintain your emotional well-being?
Being an actor isn’t easy as we are judged on everything we do or say, and the pandemic has been bad for everyone around the world. I think the most important thing I’ve learned as an actor is to not be bothered by what others say, it does affect me sometimes still, but my policy in life is simple, do good, get good and ignore the social media and be social in real life and stay private. Reading is one thing I enjoy the most to take me to a fantasy world.
Q: What are your cheat meal and favorite exercise?
My cheat meal is a vegan pizza or burger. I won’t say glutes exercise is my favorite, but I love the sweet pain as I know the results are great.
Q: If you would be asked to burst a specific myth about women’s health then what it will be?
When people claim only being a particular size or abs means your workout. No, our body isn’t like men. I’ve seen women bigger than me working out thrice from me but fitter than me. On the other hand, I’ve seen skinner girls who don’t work out but still got abs. Like I said before, size doesn’t matter; our health matters.
Q: You rule almost every heart so what is the secret behind your beauty? and, how do you take care of your skin health?
Well, I hope I do rule every heart. But I swear by all DIY homemade face packs like curd, honey, baking powder, etc. and regular sun to keep my skin color, plus the sun is the basic necessity.
Q: We all have a bucket list. What are your top five things in priority, you want to do in the next 5 years?
I can’t talk about the next five years as just 2020 feels like I’ve lived 3years. And it’s taught a lot. But I’ve done most of the things on my bucket list, still lots to achieve. But the one thing that will make me really happy is a childhood dream of having a vet farm where I can take care of all the possible abandoned animals, dogs, cats, horses cows. And have a great set of doctors to take care of them and enough by God’s grace to give them a great diet and home.
