The Odisha Government is leaving no stone unturned to make the upcoming FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup, a major global event, booming the state tourism, as well as its international level of a sports facility, situate in the Kalinga stadium.
Following the announcement made by the FIH to start the sale of match tickets at the Box Office located at the Kalinga Stadium Gate-9 along with several outlets in the twin city of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, Several hockey fans flocked in before ticket counters at the Bhubaneswar based Kalinga Stadium since morning to get physical tickets for the major global hockey event.
According to the Kalinga stadium authorities, the ticket counters will open between 10 AM a 5 PM at the Box Office located at the Kalinga Stadium Gate-9.
In order to attract more fans to come for the event, the organisers have initiated the sale of tickets at much reasonable rates starting from 200 rupees for East Stand, Rupees 100 for North Stand and rupees 100 again for South Stand. Besides, at the time of semifinals and Final matches, there will be a slight hike in the prices of tickets taking them to rupees 250 for East Stand and 150 for North Stand and again rupees 150 for South End.
As the World Cup tournaments unfurl, it will have Belgium vs Canada as well as Indian hockey team playing against South Africa in their first match on an opening day.
Despite, all these fusses around the upcoming major event scheduled to start from November 26 to December 27th, fans find it’s quite hard to get a ticket for the league matches. It happened at one of the scores of ticket counters, authorized by the upper management to sell physical tickets.
The authority has opened several windows and counters to sell tickets, however, one of the counters located in Esplanade One shopping mall Bhubaneswar refuse to cater physical tickets to a huge mass of fans amid ‘technical glitches’ fund in their system.
