Formula E, an auto racing championship which uses electronic powered cars, has gone for a multi-year agreement with Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA).
As per the deal, The Jeddah-based national carrier airline of Saudi Araba will become the official airline partner of Formula E along with the race title partner of the Saudia As Diriyah E-Prix.
The championship which is known as ABB FIA Formula E championship has entered into its 5th season on December 15.
The official announcement has come at a special event hosted at Governorate Ad Diryah, following a roadshow through the Saudi Arabian capital with the brand new-look Gen2 Car having Formula E driver Felipe Massa on the steering.
Saudi Arabian Airlines Director General, His Excellency Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, said, “SAUDIA is pleased to be supporting the ABB FIA Formula E Championship for the upcoming event in Ad Diriyah – a first for Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.”
“The airline welcomes fans from around the world to come aboard with SAUDIA as we get set to wish the teams all the very best for the race and a new era of electric street racing, starting with the SAUDIA Ad Diriyah E-Prix.”
