Gnohere Krizo Fc

New Delhi:  Buoyed-on by their home fans, Real Kashmir played a well fought out a draw against the visitors Punjab FC. Despite Punjab’s early strike in the 21st minute, the hosts managed to come back strong with an equalizer by Gnohere Krizo in the 62nd minute. The full stadium erupted with joy as Krizo calmly collected an aerial pass and placed it past the Punjab goalkeeper with ease.

It was an evenly contested game from the start with both teams holding equal possession in the initial 15 minutes. Makan Winkle Chote’s right footed shot from the centre of the box found the back of the net.

One of the startling features of the match was, in spite of having a strong show of Punjab FC in the first half, Real Kashmir made a decent come back in the second half.

Real Kashmir maintained to lead ball possession after scoring the equaliser as they looked forward to winning goal.

Following RKFC’s stunning show against Punjab FC, Real Kashmir FC co-founder, Sandeep Chattoo shared “We played extremely well. It was a tough game but we managed to play out a draw. We thank the home crowd for turning up on a Friday in huge numbers and being so polite and well behaved.”

Real Kashmir FC, in the last season, came out victorious against Punjab FC away from home by a scoreline of 1-0.

Coach David Robertson made three changes against Punjab, Altamash Sayed, Chesterpaul Lyngdoh and Gnohere Krizo replaced Farhan Ganie, Subhash Singh and Aaron Katebe.

The hosts created a flurry of chances in search of the equaliser but couldn’t find the target and trailed 0-1 at half time.

Chote capitalised on a pass from Sérgio Barboza, making full use of RKFC defensive approach and scored his second goal of the league.

RKFC is now placed eighth, with six points from five games after their draw and Punjab retained 3rd position in I-League with 10 points.
