International Yoga Day is being observed with great enthusiasm and devotion across India. Senior governments have been instructed to take part in yoga events. Border Security Force will celebrate the day by performing Asanas in Rann of Kutch and Rajasthan’s Jaisalmir. Sashastra Seema Bal and SSB soldiers will perform Yoga in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang and CISF soldiers will celebrate the Yoga day at Delhi’s Rajpath.

In each of 28 cities at least 1000 paramilitary soldiers have been directed by the home ministry to participate. Surya Namaskar will be performed by more than three lakh central armed police personnel and state police personnel in 28 prominent cities.

In Ranchi, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi spearheaded the Yoga Celebration at a ground with 40,000 others and other BJP leaders in the morning.

Before commencing the Asanas, Prime Minster addressed the nation and stated Yoga day is for uniting people irrespective of religion, caste, creed and society. He said, “Yoga can play a huge role in tackling the issue of young people becoming vulnerable to heart ailments. So, this year’s theme is ‘Yoga for heart’. We should make efforts to take Yoga from cities to villages and tribal areas. Yoga is above region, above faith and above everything.” He added more, “Peace and harmony are related to Yoga. People across the must practice it.”

Other union ministers like Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani are also hosting Yoga day events in Delhi.

All the senior government officials have been instructed to perform at least five different asanas for International Yoga Day. Senior Intelligence Bureau officials, including director Rajiv Jain, are set to perform the Sheersh Asanas or headstand, known to be one of the more complex Yoga asanas at the agency headquarters.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Haryana’s Rohtak for Yoga day celebration and will be performing asanas with Chief Minister ML Khattar.
