Celebrity fitness personal coach Jillian Michaels is advising people to avoid the gym and other public areas without masks, revealing she caught COVID-19 after “allowing her to guard down for an hour” with a close friend.

Michaels, who developed her brand as a fitness trainer on the weight-loss reality show “The Biggest Loser,” revealed her experience in a September 8 interview with Fox Business regarding her latest at-home fitness app.

JillianMichaels told she tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the COVID-19, a few weeks before after hanging out with a friend who usually does her hair and makeup.

It happened from her friend, who had an asymptomatic case of COVID-19, Michaels told. Michaels did not generate symptoms for almost a week, and she has since gained a full recovery.

“I’m lucky to have gone into it being healthy and I was able to get on the other side of it much quicker, but not everybody is that fortunate, as we know,” she told.

She stated the experience has made her more conscious of the risks of being out in public places. In particular, she advised people to stay out of the gym if they’re concerned about the disease — before promoting her app for at-home, 7-minute daily workouts.

“If you are worried about COVID, you should not go to the gym. I would love to tell you that’s not the problem but the reality is I actually let my guard down for an hour,” Michaels narrated to Fox Business.
