In a move to motivate people to work on their fitness, a self-professed Aquaphile, Kunnur’s District magistrate, Mir Muhammad Ali flagged off a project ‘The amphibian’ under which, there will be a gym installed at the Payyambalam beach of Kunnur.
The Open Air Gym renders a plus point to those sprinters and daily seaside runners as they can now supplements their daily cardio with some extra muscular activities by working out on these gym equipment machines. With the sole reason to raise awareness about fitness, 31-year-old Kunnur’s District Magistrate, Mir Muhammad Ali has set an example of a grand public service. He has shown how to motivate people about their health while they are on leisure.
In a tweet, Mir said: “Introducing #TheAmphibian to Payyambalam Beach. An open gym right there, facing the waves, barely 150m from the sea, where you can work out any time of the day.”
The open-air gym is highly appreciated by the men and women of all age groups as there is no bar over the age of doing these easy to do gym equipment. The open air gym is well equipped with all sorts of gym essentials needed by adults as well as there is a discrete mini section for children which features a mini rock climbing wall.
The open-air gym is purportedly the first beach in India to introduce a gym on the seaside to inspire people visiting beach comers. Being secluded, Payyambalam beach attracts a lot many people across the country, especially when it comes to relaxing in calm and away from city-based chaotic lifestyle with their dear ones.
The amphibian was inaugurated last day by Ramachandran Kadanapally, the state minister of ports, who has also tried his hands over one of the exercise machines.
