Iron Culture, a full-service, luxury high intensity gym situated along the Hudson River at 7700 River Road officially celebrated the opening of its second location with a celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony today. Founded by Arthur Imperatore Jr., the second location of Iron Culture opened in October 2022, and is currently home to 1,800 members, with a daily check-in rate of over 30 percent, among the highest in the fitness industry.
“Today marks a major milestone for the Iron Culture family as we continue to grow and become a disruptor in the fitness industry,” states Arthur Imperatore Jr. “At Iron Culture, our members feel an infectious, motivating energy that is unlike that of any other gym. It’s inspiring to be part of their personal journeys and life transformations. I lost my son Justin, a star college athlete, to suicide after a career ending injury, so fitness and the mind/body connection are not just a business, they are my passion and my mission in life. Iron Culture is a tribute both to his memory and to the power of fitness to improve mental health and overall wellbeing.”
The event had over 30 attendees including the Iron Culture team, North Bergen’s Mayor Nicholas Sacco, and city officials, as well as local businesses and partners including Recovery Room, Juice Journey, Glaze Donuts, Acacia Wellness, Waterside Restaurant and more.
Amenities
The 19,800-square-foot space is comprised of state-of-the art equipment by Arsenal Strength and Life Fitness, a cycling room, dedicated dead lifting room, indoor/outdoor turf area and more including:
- A dedicated Kid’s Club
- Group fitness room
- A fully equipped lounge and workspace with Wi-Fi
- Smoothie and juice bar, complete with meal plan options
- Luxurious spa-like locker rooms
Additionally, coming in June, Iron Culture will be home to The Recovery Room, a new physical therapy center, equipped with massage, acupuncture, cryotherapy, IV infusions and other therapies for members to utilize after their workouts. For those who thrive on group fitness or personalized workouts, Iron Culture offers a variety of personal training including one-on-one and group, as well as fitness classes including HIIT, bootcamp, cycling, boxing and more.

Catering to every member’s individual needs, Iron Culture has partnered with local and national businesses including Wellness by Acacia for meal services and Underground Nutrition for supplements to ensure members have everything they need in the facility for an optimal workout and healthy lifestyle.
Community Involvement
Imperatore’s strong local community ties back to his father’s founding of the NY Waterway. Since opening Iron Culture in North Bergen, NJ, the team has committed to several charitable foundations including Tunnels to Towers and Reps for Responders and is working on forming its own charitable foundation to assist high school and college athletes who struggle with mental health issues.
